We’re married!!! We had a great weekend in Port Fairy, everything was fantastic (even though it was a bit windy and rainy) and it feels a bit sad that it’s all over, as you can see I’ve put a few photos up but there’s lots more on their way. I’ve managed to score a bit of a cold and feel pretty tired so I’ll write a longer post tomorrow or something…
Update 6 July
We came down to Port Fairy on the Thursday and had a very nice holiday house booked, my dad started of on the cupcakes for the wedding and we had a pretty relaxing day. On Friday Bec and I met up with the priest to sign some papers and go through the ceremony roughly, and then Bec and the girls spent the whole afternoon fixing up the room for the reception. Other people started coming down as well and about 16 of us went out for dinner that night. The big day! Bec got up early as she and her bridesmates where booked in for makeup and hair at 8am while I met up with the photographer and looked around to decide where to take the photos. I also met up with my friend Matt who where our DJ for the night and helped him setting up. At 12.30 me and the boys arrived at the church in the Limo all suitet up and looking hot, to greate people as the came. When we where all ready the girls came down the isle one by one and Bec looked amazing! My brother and his partner had recorded a traditional swedish bridal march which was really nice. The ceremony was just as nice, relaxed and enjoyable as we had wished for, for music we used: Stefan Andersson - anywhere is paradise, Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats and David Gray - Please forgive me. We then took a few photos outside the church but it was pretty windy and cold and just as we got back into the limo the rain started so we had to go with our backup plan and have the photos inside but we think that turned out really well. At 5.30 we arrived at the reception and felt like moviestars when everyone wanted photos of us as soon as we walked in the door, after mingling around for a while it was time to sit down at the tables. John (Bec’s step dad) was the MC and Dorle (Bec’s mum), Agneta (my mum) Matt (the best man) and I performed some nice and sometimes emotional speaches, and then it was time to cut the cake. With all the formalities out of the way we had a great dinner and partied on all night (or atleast till 12). Everyone seamed to have a great time, Bec and I definitely did which of course is whats most important ![]()
The next day we had a bbq for lunch and then had a fun afternoon/night drinking and playing cards etc. After cruzing back through “the great ocean road” for two day we’re now back in our little apartment in Melbourne with lots of great memories and a ring on the finger.

Yesterday Bec and I got a present from Bec friend from work, Erin. It was a little fish bowl with a fighting fish in it, we (I) have been planning to get an aquarium so this is a little start. Unfortunately tropical fish like a water temterature around 25′C and with <15'C in our apartment he's not too happy so I'll have to buy a heater for him (I just hope I can fit one into the little bowl). We've named him PK after Pk’s Junge village, the backpackers Bec and I met at in the Daintree rainforest.
Update: I’ve now put a heater in PK’s little bowl and he’s a warm happy guy again
I’ve just installed a photo album and it seems to be working ok. It takes photos from my flickr album and posts them here on my page, have a look under “photos” on the left side menu. There’s some small design things that I want to fix but at least it’s working. I haven’t put a lot of photos up but I’ll try and get some up soon. enjoy
Update - I have fixed the design so now I just have to get cracking on uploading some photos…
There are lots of crazy and useless but fun things on the internet and here’s one that I really like. It’s the “South Park Studio” which allows you to make your own South Park characters, above you can see what I would look like if I was in the series (a Swedish Viking). If you like the show you should really have a go at this and if you make one of yourself and send me the result I’ll put it up here on my page.
Last night I went and saw Hilltop Hoods at the Metro with Matt, Jane and Jess. I met up with Matt at his job (which is just opposite the Metro) and went for a few beers and pizza. Entering the club at around ten we met up with Jane and Jess, there were a couple of other groups on before the Hoods but they weren’t great and the sound system was fairly poor all night, it was almost impossible to hear a word of what they were saying on stage… Finally the Hoods came on around midnight and put on a great show, the only setback was still the sound (as you can hear on the video) but other than that I had a great night! It was also the first time I took advantage of the night life here in the city after almost two months.
Next Friday I’m going with Matt to see Hilltop Hoods live in the city, they are playing at the Metro, a place just behind Matt’s job so I’ll probably meet up with him there and have a couple of drinks before. Hilltop hoods is one of the best Aussie hip-hop bands around at the moment and it’ll be great to see them live, it will also be the first time I’m going out in the city since we moved here so I’m looking forward to it. Bec’s working an early shift (07.00) the next morning and aren’t that into hip-hop so she’ll probably stay at home.
On Wednesday Bec and I spent half a day and a fair bit of money at Ikea, buying a table, a rug and lots of other little things. The rest of the day was spent building all the things together and decorating the apartment. After living here for over a month its nice to not having to eat with the plate in you knee any longer, and it’s starting to look more like a home. we have also handed in around 80 photos for printing and once we get them back we will choose acouple to blow up and put around the place. Above you can see some photos of our apartment all nice and neat ![]()

On Saturday night I got quite a few of my friends together at Restaurant Mañana in Gothenburg. We had tapas and drinks from 7.30 till they closed at midnight and it was really good to see everyone before I’m heading back to Australia next Tuesday. Afterwords we headed into the Gothenburg nightlife and after the usual decisions and indecisiveness we headed for Noon but there was a massive wait the bouncer told us and instead we headed across the road to Ish, apparently a fairly new place but really nice, I also happened to bump in to my old classmate Andreas there which was really nice. We took the last train back to Kållered but a problem with one carriage delayed us about 30min and we didn’t see our bed until after 4am.
On Sunday my old friend Jonas and his girlfriend Caroline came by and we went for a little walk in the forest which was a good way for Bec and me to wake up and also fun to see Jonas one last time. After lunch we headed to Mölnlycke to visit Niklas and Karin, in their new house. I haven’t seen them since summer 2004 and it was great to catch up. They are expecting their first kid in about 6 weeks so I wish them all the best.
Today has been a pretty slow day at home the only thing I’ve produced today is a translation of my CV to English so I can start looking for jobs when we get to Australia.

Yesterday Bec and I came home after a 5 day ski holiday in Åre. We took the night train both ways which meant that we had a little bed each so we could sleep most of the way (even if Bec had trouble sleeping on the way up due to some loud people next door). We had lots of fun and stayed in a nice little apartment close to the lifts. The first two days we had great weather with clear skies and not too cold, Bec was struggling a bit on the slopes the first day but got a lot better and the last day went down the red runs no problems without snowplowing. On the third day we went to “after ski” a fun tradition to go straight from the slopes in your ski gear to the pub and party and listen to live bands. We a fun time and afterwords had to ski down the slope to the town in the dark which went quite well, unfortunately I tried to do some silly thing on my board on the walk to our apartment and ended up in hospital with a dislocated shoulder again. The last two days I had to strap my arm close to my body while snowboarding which resulted in a weird look and a slight loss of balance but it went alright. The last day we woke up and it had snowed about 10cm during the night, my friend Anna had come over from Östersund about an hour away to ski with us and brought her friend Erik. The day was pretty windy but we had lots of fun before Bec and I caught the train back to Gothenburg again that night.

After having a nice new years dinner at Mikael and Nettan’s Bec and I started our busy schedule. We left the next morning with my family to go and visit my brother and his family. After about 2h in the car we arrived at their house outside of Helsingborg. After opening some late Christmas presents with Leo (their 2,5 year old son) as the driving force we had a nice afternoon there before going in to the city for dinner. The next day we took advantage of the snow and constructed an Igloo (snow house) with a little ski slope at the back, another winter activity of the list for Bec. Then we headed home and the next morning it was of to our summer house on Öland.
I’ve never been there in winter before and there were quite a lot of snow so we had to start by shoveling the snow of the driveway. Once in the house the two main tasks was to get the water and the heating going. We have an open fire place and a wood fired heater so after a few hours the temperature had crept up from around 0′C to a more comfortable 18′C, the water was a bit trickier. Because of the cold the water had frozen in the pipes but after boiling some water from melted snow and pored over the pipes we finally got it going late that night.
We spend the next day driving around the island and around 3pm just before the sun sets Bec and I went for a walk to a famous pottery shop to get some exercise and have a look around. Before we headed home again on Thursday we went in to Kalmar and looked at the old castle and an interesting display about an old shipwreck “Kronan” that sunk outside of Öland in 1676.
