wall with fishtank fishtank closeup fishtankt no fish
Today Bec and I are having a relaxing day together, we went out with a couple of bec’s cousins yesterday and got home pretty late. Pretty much the only thing we’ve done today is going out for breakfast and bought a couple of fish for our new fishtank that I’ve made for the livingroom.

The new brick

After keeping my old “brick” mobile phone, the maybe not so cool and flashy put extremely reliable nokia 3315 for about three years I have now got a new mobile. Actually it’s a Camera, Radio, MP3 player, phone etc etc, it’s the brand new Sony Ericsson K800i, it’s not smaller than my old one but has an enourmus amount of extra stuff in it. I ended up going with 3 on their $29 plan becuse at the moment my mobile bill is around $50/month and now I get a new phone and $120 worth of calls for $47/month so I think I got a pretty good deal… Because I’ve only had the phone for about 2 days I haven’t figured everything out or got some new stuff I want for it (memory card + handsfree with remote for the MP3-player) but I’m really happy with it especially since the camera in it seems really good so now I hardly have to use my camera any more.

I’ve joined the gym
@ 22:33 under category: News

On Friday I finally decided to join up with the gym after putting it off for a VERY long time, I’m not extremely excited but it’s a must to fix up my dodgy shoulder, so it’s either the gym or an operation and I’m not particularly keen on someone cutting in my shoulder so the gym it is. I really hope this will help and Bec will force me to go as she is a member at the same gym.

Visa application
Tuesday 18th July @ 21:30 under category: News

Today I handed in my latest visa application, and it might actually be my last one. I will get a temporary visa for two year that then will turn into a permanenet one, but I’m not exactly sure if I have to send in another application after two years or if it’s all automatic but that’s a later problem. I was plesantly surprised today, I was expecting to be stuck waiting for my turn forever but there was only one guy ahead of me at the reception and then I only had to wait about two minutes to actually see someone and hand in (and pay) for my visa, and they where all very nice as well. One of my first plesant experiences with australian immigration after many annoying phonecalls and questions with quite incompetent people that sometimes seems to know a lot less than I do…

Congratulations Beatrice

Back in Sweden the Swedish Championships in Athletics are on this weekend, and yesterday my good friend Bea won the 400m! Congratulations! She didn’t run quite fast enough to qualify for the European championships that runs in our home town Gothenburg in August this year both both she and her partner Christofer who runs 100m and 200m have another couple of weeks to qualify and they’re both really close, Christofer has already run under the qualifying time but in a little bit too much wind so it’s not valid, and Bea only has to improve by 0.5s.
To gain a bit of momentum coming up to the European Championships a couple of other members of the Swedish national team has joined up with local hard rock band Hammerfall to make a music video, it’s quite funny to watch so enjoy

update 25 July - Beatrice qualified a couple of days ago with a new personal best, congratulations again! and Christofer is most likely in the 4×100 relay team but it’s not clear if he’s actually running or is just on standby.

Working on my visa
Friday 14th July @ 22:00 under category: News

Now when the wedding is over I’ve put my energy into organizing my new visa application, it’s fairly similar to my last one but there’s still quite a few things to fill in and papers to order and copy. It’s lots of fun… NOT, but at least I can see the end af all my different visa applications getting closer. I need to hand it in at the start of next week otherwise my medical examination gets out of date and I have to spend $300 on a new one…

Off to the Grampians
Friday 7th July @ 21:57 under category: News

After a couple of days trying to relax at home we’ve now taken off on our last trip with my parents. We have headed off to the Grampians a national park area with beatiful mountains and forests. About a year ago there where massive bush fires in the area but it’s all recovering now so it’ll be interesting to see what it looks like. Tonight we have stopped of at Bec’s parents place again and tomorrow morning we’re off to the grampians. Susanna and Tobias have left for a few days in Thailand before arriving back in Sweden, you can read more about their adventures here
Update 14 July - There are now some photos in the photoalbum

Walking down the isle weddingparty outside church Waiting in church Cutting the cake Getting in to limo
We’re married!!! We had a great weekend in Port Fairy, everything was fantastic (even though it was a bit windy and rainy) and it feels a bit sad that it’s all over, as you can see I’ve put a few photos up but there’s lots more on their way. I’ve managed to score a bit of a cold and feel pretty tired so I’ll write a longer post tomorrow or something…
Update 6 July
We came down to Port Fairy on the Thursday and had a very nice holiday house booked, my dad started of on the cupcakes for the wedding and we had a pretty relaxing day. On Friday Bec and I met up with the priest to sign some papers and go through the ceremony roughly, and then Bec and the girls spent the whole afternoon fixing up the room for the reception. Other people started coming down as well and about 16 of us went out for dinner that night. The big day! Bec got up early as she and her bridesmates where booked in for makeup and hair at 8am while I met up with the photographer and looked around to decide where to take the photos. I also met up with my friend Matt who where our DJ for the night and helped him setting up. At 12.30 me and the boys arrived at the church in the Limo all suitet up and looking hot, to greate people as the came. When we where all ready the girls came down the isle one by one and Bec looked amazing! My brother and his partner had recorded a traditional swedish bridal march which was really nice. The ceremony was just as nice, relaxed and enjoyable as we had wished for, for music we used: Stefan Andersson - anywhere is paradise, Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats and David Gray - Please forgive me. We then took a few photos outside the church but it was pretty windy and cold and just as we got back into the limo the rain started so we had to go with our backup plan and have the photos inside but we think that turned out really well. At 5.30 we arrived at the reception and felt like moviestars when everyone wanted photos of us as soon as we walked in the door, after mingling around for a while it was time to sit down at the tables. John (Bec’s step dad) was the MC and Dorle (Bec’s mum), Agneta (my mum) Matt (the best man) and I performed some nice and sometimes emotional speaches, and then it was time to cut the cake. With all the formalities out of the way we had a great dinner and partied on all night (or atleast till 12). Everyone seamed to have a great time, Bec and I definitely did which of course is whats most important ;-)
The next day we had a bbq for lunch and then had a fun afternoon/night drinking and playing cards etc. After cruzing back through “the great ocean road” for two day we’re now back in our little apartment in Melbourne with lots of great memories and a ring on the finger.
