It’s getting very close and very exciting… After spending the night at Bec’s parents farm we are about to head down to Port Fairy. Tonight we are testing the recepies for the wedding cake that my dad’s making and tomorrow we are doing the final touches to the ceremony and the reception. It feels a bit strange but really god that the day is finally here after so long. It’s a bit sad that only my parents and my sister made it down here from Sweden but on the other hand that gives us a good reason for a big party next time we get back to there! Wish us luck and I’ll try and get some photo’s up as soon as I can when we get back to Melbourne on Tuesdasy after cruising back on “the great ocean road”
We are just about to head off down to Port Fairy for the preparations for the wedding. Our apartment currently looks like a total disaster area with both my parents and my sister and her boyfriend staying here. Yesterday we went to a sanctuary and looked at all the local animals and then went out for dinner, which was really nice. My sister and her boyfriend are staying here in Melbourne two more days and are coming down to Port Fairy on Friday. Then on Saturday bis the big day we’re really excited and it’ll be a great day!
Now there’s only one week until the big day, everything important is organized and we are both on two weeks holiday. Tomorrow morning we are picking up my parents at the airport and on Monday my sister and her boyfriend are arriving. I’m really looking forward to the actual wedding day after planning it for so long, it will be a great day.
In a week my parents are arriving here in Melbourne and a day later my sister and her boyfriend is flying in as well. It’s really exciting to have them over here to see how I have it down here. I’ll have two weeks off work and Bec and I will try to have everything organized for the wedding before they arrive so we can spend as much time with them as possible and not just stress around to get everything in order for the big day, it feels like we got it under controll but there will probably be some little things to organize at the last minute I’m sure.
I’m just back after having my bucks night before the wedding, it was actually a whole weekend where we went down the coast for a surf trip. Unfortunately I didn’t get to surf too much as a managed to dislocate my shoulder AGAIN! on the first day but we had lots of fun anyway. Check out the photo’s in my photo gallery .
I met up on Saturday morning in Geelong with Matt (my best man) and his housemate Matt, they had hired a car and we planned to go down the coast for some surf before meeting up with the rest of the guys to hit the town later. We stopped at the factory shops in Torquay on the way and had a quick not very good surf before getting down to Lorne and checking in to our surprisingly nice backpackers. After unloading some stuff we headed down to one off Matt’s favourite surf breakes and it looked quite alright even if it got fairly close to the rocks as it was low tide. We headed out with the other Matt staying on the rocks taking photos, Matt got the first two waves before I found my first one, I had a good ride but just as I pulled off I instinctively grabbed my board to get back out faster, unfortunately I grabbed it with my dodgy left arm and as I went down my arm was pulled up and that was it, off to the hospital with a dislocated shoulder. 3hours, $150 and some crazy drugs later I was back into action and we went to Lorne hotel to meet up with the rest of the guys who had now made it down. We had a nice dinner and continued the night downstairs at the Pub, the doctor had assured me that there was no problems for me to drink a bit after the drugs but that I would probably fall asleep after two beers. I proved him terribly wrong a lasted till 2am when the pub closed and then back to the backpackers to watch Swedens first depressing game of the world cup, 0-0 against Trinidad and Tobago (I have to admit that I fell asleep a while during second half though) and going to bed around 4am. The next day we went for a drive down the coast, Matt went for a surf and I took photos before heading back home. Even though not everything went as planned it was a good weekend and luckily it is a long weekend so I don’t go back to work until Wednesday so my shoulder should be sort of allright by then (I’m off buying a strap for it tomorrow…)

Yesterday Bec and I got a present from Bec friend from work, Erin. It was a little fish bowl with a fighting fish in it, we (I) have been planning to get an aquarium so this is a little start. Unfortunately tropical fish like a water temterature around 25′C and with <15'C in our apartment he's not too happy so I'll have to buy a heater for him (I just hope I can fit one into the little bowl). We've named him PK after Pk’s Junge village, the backpackers Bec and I met at in the Daintree rainforest.
Update: I’ve now put a heater in PK’s little bowl and he’s a warm happy guy again
With about 4 weeks to go to our wedding pretty much everything is under control, except the music to play in the church during the ceremony. I really don’t want some slow mushy love songs, but finding music that we both like and that has good lyrics (Bec’s very strict on that) is quite tricky. Most of my music collection is definitely not suitable for the occasion and I’ve never been one to really listen to the lyrics of the songs, I’m more in to the beat and the rythm. My brother is recording something for us to use as a wedding march for walking in to the church but we need probably 3 more songs, 2 for during the ceremony (signing the registry) and 1 for walking out. I’ve been looking in to Jack Johnson, Xavier rudd and quite a few more but no real luck, if I don’t come up with something soon it looks like it will be something that I’m not totally pleased with as Bec have found some alternatives that she really likes, so any suggestions for a suitable song would be greately appreciated!!!!
After two weeks at TLM (Total Lift Management) it seems like a pretty nice job, it keeps my brain working to get all the parts to fit into not always perfectly adapted lift shafts, the other guys seems pretty nice so far and it should keep me pretty fit (and the pay is allright). It’s a bit boring to live away from home during the weeks but it’s only for a little while so I’ll survive
On Friday Bec and I went down to Port Fairy and finalized everything for the wedding reception, so that’s another thing to tick of the list. Yesterday night Bec had her hens night (SWE möhippa) which aparently was wery succesful (Bec’s been asleep since 8 tonight ;-), I stayed down in Geelong at Matts just chilling out on Saturday. This morning we went down to 13th Beach for a surf, it was great to get in the water again, everything just feels much better once I’ve had a surf, it cleares my head and takes stress and other shit away (not that I’m stressing to much anyway but…). The wind was onshore but there was a bit of swell coming in so we got an ok session anyway, these day’s I’m not too fuzzy…
