Arrived in Australia
Tuesday 31st January @ 5:22 under category: News

We are now back in Jan Juc, staying at our friends house for the night. The trip went fine but we’re both pretty tired, tomorrow we will go up to Melbourne and start looking for an apartment and maybe a job for me.

Sunny on Koh Chang
Friday 27th January @ 13:02 under category: Travel

Today we have spent the whole day on the beach at Koh Chang. We are staying at Siam Hut just at the beach at “Lonely beach” and it’s really nice here. Bec had a luxury day with a massage on the beach and tomorrow we have booked in a 2h elephant tour in the jungle. Unfortunately we only have two days here before heading back to Bangkok for some more cheap shopping and then Australia.

Eventfull trip to Bangkok
Wednesday 25th January @ 15:52 under category: Travel

We are in Bangkok after almost making AU$ 950 in Helsinki by giving up our seat on the plane and get a free night at a hotel and arrive in Thailand 24h later but with only 15 min till the plane left we got tickets and now we are here just as poor as before ;-) We’ve checked in a a guesthouse and bought tickets to go to the island Koh Chang in the morning, the afternoon we have spend shopping a few things on khao chang road. I’ve also got my dreads fixed, it was an unusual experience, except for the fact that I was sitting on the side of a busy street with people walking past and looking and smiling at me I had three people working on my dreads at the same time which made it even more painful than usual. To top the whole thing one of the hairdressers where a man with tits acting like a girl occasionally rubbing his groin against my shoulders. The things you do to look good. Now I’m off to bed, the buss leaves at 07.30 tomorrow morning…

See you later Sweden
Tuesday 24th January @ 11:01 under category: News

Bec and I are just packing up our stuff to get ready to fly back to Australia with a 5 day stop in Thailand on the way. I feel sad to leave all my friends and family again, but once I’m back in Australia I know I’ll love it there as well. I’ll try and stay in touch as much as I can over the phone and skype (which by the way have released a new version that supports video) and I’ll post my phone nr in Australia here as soon as Bec and I find an apartment and move in, so please call me as much as you can!

Love you all and see you soon again! - Australia here I come…

Cold and snowy in Stockholm
@ 21:03 under category: News, Travel

Bec and I have now spent 2 days with Mikael och Nettan in Södertälje outside of Stockholm. Both days we have went into the city to see the castle (which unfortunately was closed) and other things. It’s been snowing a fair bit and Bec has called these days “the coldest I’ve ever experienced”. We just got home after watching Extreme at the IMAX dome movie theatre Cosmonova. Tomorrow is our last day here and we’ll have dinner with Caroline (a mutual friend that went to the same uni as me and Nettan) and her boyfriend Albin.

Goodbye Christofer
Wednesday 18th January @ 0:05 under category: News

Today after first having lunch with my old friend Anna, and then going to the dentist to get my second wisdoom toth out, I went with Bec to Christofer and Bea. Tomorrow we are going to Stockholm for a few day so I had to say goodbye to Christofer as he is leaving for a 4 week training camp in South Africa before I’m back in Gothenburg. Christofer is one of my best friends so I’ll miss seing him alot but it wasn’t too bad saying goodbye, probably it hasn’t really sunk in that I’m leaving so soon.

Goodbye party at Mañana

Full dinner table at restaurant Mañana Bec and my younger sister Susanna Me, Christina and Bea smiling for the camera Johan beating Henrik to get the beer with Shaggy in the background
On Saturday night I got quite a few of my friends together at Restaurant Mañana in Gothenburg. We had tapas and drinks from 7.30 till they closed at midnight and it was really good to see everyone before I’m heading back to Australia next Tuesday. Afterwords we headed into the Gothenburg nightlife and after the usual decisions and indecisiveness we headed for Noon but there was a massive wait the bouncer told us and instead we headed across the road to Ish, apparently a fairly new place but really nice, I also happened to bump in to my old classmate Andreas there which was really nice. We took the last train back to Kållered but a problem with one carriage delayed us about 30min and we didn’t see our bed until after 4am.

On Sunday my old friend Jonas and his girlfriend Caroline came by and we went for a little walk in the forest which was a good way for Bec and me to wake up and also fun to see Jonas one last time. After lunch we headed to Mölnlycke to visit Niklas and Karin, in their new house. I haven’t seen them since summer 2004 and it was great to catch up. They are expecting their first kid in about 6 weeks so I wish them all the best.

Today has been a pretty slow day at home the only thing I’ve produced today is a translation of my CV to English so I can start looking for jobs when we get to Australia.

5 days in Åre
Saturday 14th January @ 11:30 under category: Movies, News, Pictures, Travel

Bec with a view from the top of the lift Bec and I on our way up in the lift One night we went out and had the biggest pizzas ever at 'Liten Krog' My friend Anna and Erik that came over from Östersund and skied with us the last day VIDEO: Bec skiing down a blue run at the end of day two View over one of the over 100 slopes in Åre
Yesterday Bec and I came home after a 5 day ski holiday in Åre. We took the night train both ways which meant that we had a little bed each so we could sleep most of the way (even if Bec had trouble sleeping on the way up due to some loud people next door). We had lots of fun and stayed in a nice little apartment close to the lifts. The first two days we had great weather with clear skies and not too cold, Bec was struggling a bit on the slopes the first day but got a lot better and the last day went down the red runs no problems without snowplowing. On the third day we went to “after ski” a fun tradition to go straight from the slopes in your ski gear to the pub and party and listen to live bands. We a fun time and afterwords had to ski down the slope to the town in the dark which went quite well, unfortunately I tried to do some silly thing on my board on the walk to our apartment and ended up in hospital with a dislocated shoulder again. The last two days I had to strap my arm close to my body while snowboarding which resulted in a weird look and a slight loss of balance but it went alright. The last day we woke up and it had snowed about 10cm during the night, my friend Anna had come over from Östersund about an hour away to ski with us and brought her friend Erik. The day was pretty windy but we had lots of fun before Bec and I caught the train back to Gothenburg again that night.
