Website update
Wednesday 30th November @ 13:33 under category: News

I’m pretty tired today after making the big mistake to fall asleep at 18.00 o’clock yesterday instead of staying up and forcing myself into Swedish time so now I’ll have to pay for that today.

Because of the stitches in my foot I’m not working this week so I’m transferring all my old posts into my new webpage and I didn’t realize how much I’d written until now. It makes up a 33 page document in Microsoft Word and every post has to be put in separately on the right date so It’ll probably won’t be finished today, I’ve currently made it back to June this year which isn’t even 20% of all there is.

New Design
@ 0:43 under category: News

I have redesigned my web page after quite a few years with the same looks. I have also started to use wordpress which is a program that makes it a lot easier to update and organize the content of a website or a ‘blog’. Some of the news are weather reports from Gothenburg and Melbourne on the left side and the possibility to add comments to every post that I write and not just in a separate guest-book. It will also be easier for me to add pictures as soon as I get that organized properly but for now you will have to visit my old site to look at the pictures. The page now also contains an RSS-feed which means that if you have a reader that can handle these feeds either a separate reader or a e-mail program like Thunderbird you can subscribe to my web-page by using the link “RSS” at the bottom of the page and get a notification when I write something.

Snowy street Path to the front door Nice and white

My quick visit to Australia is over and I’m back in Sweden with four stiches in my right foot as a souvenir. The trip went ok but Finnair doesn’t hold the same high standards as Malaysian unfortunately, no personal tv-screen and pretty ordinary food. It had been snowing in Sweden during the night so this is how it looked when I got home this morning.

Last day in Oz
Sunday 27th November @ 0:21 under category: Surf

Got up pretty early tonight to drop Bec of at the hospital and pick up Matt for a surf. None of us thought the surf would be any good but it turned out to be really nice, 3ft offshore. We ended up going to “impossibles” a spot just east of Torquay, it’s more of a longboard wave especially as we got there on high tide but it was still really nice and my shoulder survived the test even if I could feel that it’s not 100% yet. Now it’s time for a late breakfast an maybe another surf later.

Tomorrow it’s back to Sweden again but this time it’s only 3 week until I get to see Bec again as she is coming to Sweden for Christmas.

— Update 17.30 —

Our second surf wasn’t as good as the first one. The wind had picked up so the waves weren’t as good and I managed to get a cut on the side of my foot from the fins of my board and had to get 4 stiches at the hospital. Everything is fine though, only tissue damage, I should keep it elevated today and tomorrow so I’ll try to scam an uppgrade on the flight ;-)

It’s HOT over here
Saturday 26th November @ 0:11 under category: News, Surf

Yesterday we had over 30′C, very nice as long as you where at the beach but a little bit to hot to do anything else. Me and Bec went for a bike ride to a nice beach and spent a couple of hours there which was really nice (Bec was a bit hungover after our Halloween party the night before, I was fine as i fell asleep at 9 o’clock).

When we got home I took my board and went down to the closest surf beach, Jan Juc, and Bec came down and worked a bit more on her tan. The waves were pretty small (1-2ft) but it was nice to get out in the water and have a little surf again after 2 1/2 months without it. It felt a bit weird and I was a little bit scared to stuff up my shoulder again but it was ok, after about 20min my legs started cramping up, probably from dehydration and our bike ride earlier so it ended up being a pretty short surf.

Last night we went for dinner at ‘Growlers’ (the restaurant where Bec worked before), when she did her last shift last week the owner gave her a free dinner for two as a good bye present. We had a really nice time but we where both a bit to hot to really enjoy it 100%, after dinner we went past ‘Ripe’, a little bar in Torquay, to listen to one of my friends DJ’ing, because he will do the music at our wedding and we wanted to listen to him “in action’. The bar was almost empty so he didn’t work very hard but he has some good music so it’ll probably be fine (and free!)

Back in Australia
Wednesday 23rd November @ 10:59 under category: News, Travel

After 30 hours on planes I’m now on the other side of the globe again and have swapped -3′C against +25′C and Sun :-)

A little bit tired but not too bad actually and it’s great to see Bec and all my friends over here again.

—- update 18.10 —

I traveled with Malaysia Airlines and it was probably the best flight Sweden-Australia I’ve had. The legroom between the seats where really good and the in-seat entertainment system (our own little TV in front of you) was very good. Between Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur I had 11 channels to choose from that showed movies and TV shows and on the plane to Melbourne I had “video-on-demand” which meant that I could choose between maybe 30 movies and lots of TV programs and look at them any time I wanted. The food was ok, just your regular airplane food (but they did give you ice-cream as a little snack between meals)

Bec’s is doing a late shift at the hospital tonight, we had a nice sleep in this morning though and went to the beach a little while but it was VERY windy so we didn’t stay long and the surf was crap. This afternoon I went to Swell (the cafe I worked at earlier) to visit and I’ve also fixed up the vegetable garden and our tomato plants. Now I’m starting to feel pretty tired but I’ll have to try and stay up a bit longer to get into the right time frame.

Australia here I come
Wednesday 16th November @ 14:39 under category: News, Travel

I’M GOING TO AUSTRALIA!!!

On Monday 21/11 I’ll take a flight to Melbourne and stay for a week with Bec :-)

It feels a litle bit weird as we weren’t supposed to se each onter till christmas, but at the same time its VERY exciting. The reason that I’m going down now and for such a short time is that about six months ago Me and Bec had planned to apply for a different visa and that I would stay until the end of November. Because of this I bought a return ticke starting in Melbourne on the 28th November. Because of different circumstances I hag to go home earlier and I thought that ‘ok I paid for a return ticket but I just have to juse the return flight from Sweden to Australia’. Unfortunately return tickets are seen as one trip so if I don’t get on the plane in Melbourne in November they cancel my ticket and I cant fly to melbourne in January. Basicly this ment that I had to buy a new ticket either to travel now and start on my previously booked ticket or travel later and lose my ticket. This way at least I get to see Bec and my friends for a week and move some stuff over to Australia.

TELIA Broadband installed
Thursday 10th November @ 18:31 under category: News

Today we got our broadband connection, I plugged in all the cords and everything just worked straight away, impressive and surprising! I have also purchased a router so both computers can access the internet and I only had to click one checkbox and everything worked fine on both computers.

I’m working again
Monday 7th November @ 18:31 under category: News

After my first day of moving furnitures and stuff I’m pretty tired in my whole body so I’ll sleep well tonight. Tomorrow afternoon I have an intervju for a job at IKEA so suddenly I might have two jobs.
