Finally in Sydney
Tuesday 28th June @ 7:22 under category: News, Travel

We finally made it to Sydney, it was a very foggy morning in Melbourne so instead of leaving at 08.00 the plane got delayed till 13.00 and once here it’s raining. We really like it anyway and tomorrow we are renting a car to have a better look around

We’re off to Sydney in the morning, the weather forecast doesn’t look too good but it’ll be fun anyway.

Winter holidays
Sunday 26th June @ 7:23 under category: News

Bec’s made it through another semester at uni and are now on winter holidays, and on Tuesday we are going to Sydney. To celebrate the end of Uni Bec, Me, Anders, Phil and Jane went into Geelong to party on Thursday night. We had loads of fun but we all had to pay dearly for it the next day. Fortunately I didn’t bring my camera… Today Bec’s in Melbourne to watch Dirty Dancing the Musical with her mum, she got the ticket as a birthday present and she has been really excited the last couple of days. On Tuesday we are flying up to Sydney to have a look around, to see if we want to move up there next year. Bec has an apointment with a lady to look at the hospital for her grad year and we are going to have a look around the area to see where we might want to live. It should be a fun couple of days and hopefully we won’t get lost too much driving around the city.

I like my bike

I’m very happy with my bike, I’ve used it every day since I bought it and have clocked up around 80km so far.

IT’S RAINING!
Friday 10th June @ 7:26 under category: News

IT’S RAINING! after a very dry summer and autumn we’re finally getting some rain, even though it’s not a lot. The last rain I can remember was one morning in the middle of April so it’s definitely needed.

I’ve bought a bike
Thursday 9th June @ 7:27 under category: News

I’ve bought myself a mtb and tonight we’re going to the movies to see Mr and Mrs Smith. Yesterday I went up to Melbourne to finally buy a bike after a few weeks indecisiveness. I ended up with a “Shogun special MBC Elite” for $699, it was a pretty good buy including helmet, lock, lights etc. The bike’s got front suspension, mechanical disc brakes and shimano deore/LX gears and after a 45 min ride this morning it feels pretty good. My knee/hamstring is still a bit sore and so is my shoulder so I have to stick to my bike and the gym for a while now. Yesterday I also joined the gym that Bec goes to, it’s very small and haven’t got a lot of equipment but after a 1 1/2h tryout session I think I’ll be able to do pretty much all I want there. Tonight I’m going to the movies to see Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Mr and Mrs Smith with Bec and a few friends, hope it’ll be good and maybe You’ll see a review here soon.

More injuries
Monday 6th June @ 7:29 under category: News

I’m swapping from surfing, to the gym and mountainbiking. After dislocating my shoulder again during my attempts to get back into surfing after all my injuries, I have now finally realised that I have to do some serious training to fix it. So on Wednesday I’m buying a membership at the local gym (the other two alternatives I’ve come up with is to stay in bed or get an operation ;-). I’ve also found a really nice mountainbike and pretty much convinced myself that buying it is a good way to spend $800, even though Bec isn’t so shure… Other than that winter has come (June-August) and because no one here in Australia knews how to insulate a house I’m freezing my ass off every morning, and it will get worse!
